PRAYING

Prayer is critical to approaching missions. In John 15:16, Jesus said, "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you." Simply put prayer is our link to strength and guidance as we strive to honor Him in our efforts to extend His kingdom.

All that we do, whether preaching, extending kindness, or administering humanitarian aid, the accomplishment of God's purposes depend on prayer for success. For our efforts to be successful we must have meaningful faith-filled prayer, both by the team members sent into the field and church members who remain at home. It has been said, "When missions move forward by prayer, it magnifies the power of God. When missions move by human management, it magnifies only man." Thus, when success is achieved through prayer it proves the supremacy of God in the pursuit of people of all nations.
